How Our Shipping API Works

Courier API from Despatch Cloud is built on top of world-leading Cloud infrastructure providers. All our servers are located in the UK and our infrastructure providers all meet the ISO/IEC 27001 information security standard. All courier and customer data on our servers is encrypted with AES-256 as standard.

Can I use your courier accounts?

Yes! Courier API is fully compatible with Despatch Cloud Shipping which can offer courier services from a range of UK couriers. In addition to this, Despatch Cloud has partnered with a number of fulfilment centres and courier aggregators. So, if you need to create courier labels but do not have your own courier account, please contact us; we will be happy to talk over the options with you.
We created Courier API with security in mind, SSL is standard for all API requests and all courier and customer data on our servers is encrypted with AES-256 as standard, and Courier API supports and encourages the use of multi-factor authentication on system login. If you would like to find out more about the security aspects that we have at Courier API, then by all means, please do get in touch with us and we'll provide further details.
Yes! - Courier API offers a comprehensive user interface that allows users to find, analyse and download courier log files for all Courier API requests. If you would like to find out more on how you can do this, don't hesitate to contact us, the Courier API customer services team will help to assist you.
No long contracts, no tie downs. We price our API service per label. Our prices vary depending on monthly volume and are based on a flexible monthly rolling subscription. So, you can cancel or adjust your plan anytime. If you have any questions with regards to our pricing options for the shipping API then please let us know and we will be happy to help you.
No need to worry about failed label attempts as we do not charge for them. In such cases, the Courier API allows you to retry and print the correct label and you will only be charged for the labels that will be of use to you.
No! We apply a per order charge. Our system recognizes the labels based on order, so, even when your order contains multiple packages which require multiple labels, you will only be charged for one label per order.
Yes! Courier API is compatible with a number of international couriers, so, you can print labels and ship orders via these international couriers as if you were in the UK even when you are abroad.
Our Courier API is currently integrated with 32 couriers.
It is possible to cancel a label where the courier itself supports this feature. In this case, Courier API makes a label cancellation request to the API, thus allowing for labels to be cancelled. Although this feature is not yet compatible with all the couriers Courier API is integrated with, our team is working on extending the selection of couriers which support this.
